We love having the opportunity to share what we do with youngsters as a way of helping them learn something new. We recently hosted a group of 4th - 8th graders as a part of their homeschool STEM (science/technology/engineering/math) curriculum, touring them around our office and holding a Q&A session.
There's nothing like hands-on learning, particularly when it is finger-licking fun! We broke the kids into two teams and challenged them to build a structure that had to have a door, window, column and roof. Their materials? Graham crackers, pretzels and frosting.
Everyone had a great time, including the big kids! Best of all -- one of the students says she wants to become an architect!
