ACE 2019
May 8, 2019 JJCA Office News

JJCA has participated for many years in the ACE program, a great opportunity for us to mentor high school students interested in the architecture, construction management and engineering professions.

JJCA's Stephanie Pielich, Meredith Cheatham, and Mara Caoile mentored a team of 10 students from Franklin and Independence High Schools as they worked on their project supporting this year's theme of "Unity". The team reached out to the City of Franklin Parks and Recreation Department to brainstorm ideas to create a community garden in Harlinsdale along with a proposed community center. As a part of the program, the team presented their idea to the city for consideration.

Speaking of unity, during the course of our work together, students visited JJCA as well as the offices of engineering and construction mentors, a hands-on way to learn how the three professions "unite" to take projects from the drawing board to reality!

With terrific sponsorship this year, ACE was able to present $2000 scholarships to 3 students from each team at this year's banquet, held on May 2.
