Vision 2020
Jan 15, 2020 JJCA Office News

It's coincidental, actually, that we are sharing a new vision statement in 2020, but certainly timely! First a little back story...

For nearly three decades, our projects have been focused on sectors with high societal impact. Until very recently those have primarily included healthcare and education. So it is partly natural progression and wholly intentional that we have added a housing component to our practice. You could say that working on the project to revitalize Cayce Housing, Nashville’s largest low-income housing development into a mixed-use, mixed-income community gave us the inspiration.

Partnering with us to add their significant expertise in housing is David Baker Architects, award-winning residential architects with offices in San Francisco and Oakland, California as well as Birmingham, Alabama. DBA is known for exceptional housing, creative site strategies, designing for density, and integrating new construction into the public realm. Marrying DBA's award-winning concepts with JJCA's highly-refined processes and project leadership is allowing us to pursue a new sector that we believe will have a significant impact on our community, as well as others. And we're excited to announce one of our first projects with DBA - one that hits really close to home: a new mixed-use development in Nashville's Marathon Village area. Read more here

So as we evolve a bit to incorporate a new sector into our mix, it seemed a good time to articulate a vision statement that speaks to the good we seek to do through our work. Whether it’s healthcare, education or housing, we have one vision:

Improving the human experience through thoughtful design.
