Even the best writers know they cannot edit their own material. It is nearly impossible to “see” your own mistakes.  Architectural drawings are no different. That’s why our proprietary “checkset process” has proven itself time and again in minimizing the number of change orders associated with our projects.  When we spend the extra time required to have a number of people who are not involved in a project to review a set of drawings, we are ultimately able to deliver very clean, logical and functional drawings.

We’re always looking for ways to improve all of our processes and checksetting is no different. That’s why we’ve recently invited Jim Henry, president of Healthcare Facilities Development, Inc., to participate in some of our checksetting sessions.  Jim provides a unique perspective against which to checkset our plans, including his vast knowledge of project issues and typical change order items, as well as a totally objective set of eyes reviewing the drawings much as a contractor might.
