North Tampa Behavioral Health: A Calming Environment

Creating a healing environment is central to the healthcare design process at JJCA. When it comes to behavioral health, balancing safety with the creation of a welcoming, peaceful setting that appropriately meets the needs of very different populations is key. Our continuing work with North Tampa Behavioral Health provides a great example of the execution of these principles, as well as our ability to turn site challenges into design opportunities.

One of hospital Director of Business Development Abbey Brown's quotes in this recent Behavioral Health article references the design aesthetic in this way:

“Part of therapeutic thought processes is the environment you’re in, and North Tampa is a very calming facility that doesn’t feel or smell like a hospital. I live in this community and at my kid’s school people have said ‘oh, that’s a hospital? I thought it was a hotel.”

We're always grateful to learn that our work results in both elegant design and excellent patient care.
