Kingwood, West Virginia New ConstructionSize: 79,500 SFConstruction Cost: $28M Completed: 2015
Preston Memorial Hospital is located in the rural community of Kingwood, West Virginia. Their new, 79,500 square foot, 25-bed hospital, replaces an aging facility that was located on a land-locked site. As is very common with the community hospitals we work with across the country, Preston had a particularly tight budget for the project. And it isn’t just the budget that’s tight on this project – the site is as well. The new hospital is built on a long, narrow hilltop. Designing Preston’s new hospital using BIM provided a quality set of drawings that facilitated efficient bidding and minimized change-orders.
