Flexibility in education design has never been more important than in today's world of rapidly changing technology. That's a theme that came out time and again in the recent Ed-Spaces conference, held in Kansas City, Missouri in late October. Both Linda Mark and Meredith Cheatham attended this year's event and came away with numerous ideas to inform JJCA's many education projects.

According to Jamie Casap, Education Evangelist at Google and one of the conference speakers, we've moved well beyond asking students what they want to be when they grow up. Instead, we need to ask what problems they want to solve and then provide them the necessary resources. Gone are the days of the typical classroom design with rows of desks or tables and chairs facing a whiteboard. Today, education spaces need to support virtually unlimited configurations that will allow teachers and students to collaborate to solve problems in ways that will continue to evolve.
