It wouldn’t be fall without the JJCA Cornhole Tournament. There was a lot of color in our parking lot, and it wasn’t just the beautiful leaves!
We had a great time. Nathan set up a popcorn machine, and the scent of fresh popcorn and the sound of pop-pop-popping filled the air.
As usual, our team names reflect creativity that goes well beyond masterplans and facades:
Tim and Alyssa were the first team out when NACORN Nation pulled ahead during the final stretch of the first game. No worries because it gave them a better opportunity to heckle the other teams with the rest of the energetic spectators.
At the end of “fierce” play, Cobb Sawyer and Shuckleberry Nathan won, narrowly beating Riders of the Corn.
The Best-Dressed team was The Golden Girls, but we had a lot of great team outfits this year, so it was a close win.
So now, the cornhole boards and bags are snuggled in their resting place in our basement until next year. We’re still basking in fun memories of creative costumes and friendly banter. Our JJCA traditions like this are great bonding experiences. For now, we relax.
Until next year.
