Excitement filled the air on February 11, 2025, as TCAT Blue shovels hit the dirt at the groundbreaking ceremony for the Tennessee College of Applied Technology (TCAT) Dickson’s Clarksville Campus expansion. Elected officials, community leaders, students, and staff gathered to celebrate a project that will transform career education in the region.
This 22,800 square-foot facility will house state-of-the-art training spaces for high-demand fields, including Diesel-powered Equipment, Automotive Technology, and Hybrid Electrical Vehicle programs. The expansion features eight automotive and hybrid vehicle bays, six diesel-powered equipment bays, and classrooms designed for hands-on learning. Additionally, the facility will introduce a CDL Truck Driving program, complete with instructional space.
Beyond student training, the new facility will serve as a hub for workforce development. The design also integrates seamlessly with the existing campus, with a central corridor aligning with the current building.
"It's inspiring to witness the incredible growth of TCATs across Tennessee,” said Linda Mark, Principal and Education Practice Lead. “These institutions equip students with the skills needed to meet industry demands, and we are honored to play a role in supporting their mission."
Tennessee Board of Regents Chancellor Dr. Flora Tydings, Tennessee State Senator Bill Powers, State Representative Ronnie Glynn, State Representative Jeff Burkhart, Clarksville City Mayor Joe Pitts, along with numerous industry partners attended the groundbreaking event. Fellowship Construction is the contractor.
The $13.5 million project is set for completion in early 2026, bringing new opportunities for students and strengthening the regional workforce. Stay tuned as TCAT takes this exciting step toward the future.
